onefansopinion The rumors are pretty strong that the ASUN is going to put together a football conference. The teams being mentioned would provide KSU with some GREAT rivalry games.
bb_fan The ASun is acting on what they said earlier this year -- up to 20 Universities by 2023 split into 2 conferences; one football playing and one non-football playing.
KingOwlLegacy I love it. I'd love to leave the Big South. The schools that the ASUN is trying to add are not any to sneeze at either.
EveryTimeIDom I just read the rumor article below. If ASUN can pull off getting Jacksonville State (others mentioned would be gravy) to realign, I'd love to see us join. Nothing against the Big South; the biggest issue was that our program outkicked what they had to offer. https://athlonsports.com/college-football/atlantic-sun-wac-becoming-potential-players-college-football-2020
FGColonel Don't know if we are gravy but we are in. Looking forward to meeting you guys. When you get a chance drop by https://www.maroon-nation.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=3 and say HI.
EveryTimeIDom https://ksuowls.com/news/2021/1/29/general-asun-conference-announces-three-new-institutions.aspx This is great news!
Bellavanilla21 I read somewhere that Sam Houston State was in but they are not listed as a member on the ASUN website. Anyone know about this?
FGColonel they are part of the one year AQ7 formed so there would be 6 teams in the conference and thus get an auto bid to playoffs.. SFA did the same thing. Rumors are Austin Peay and or Chattanooga will join making the min 6 teams. KSU, Jax St, EKU, Central Arkansas and North Alabama being the original 5
