Eastern Kentucky advanced to the finals of the Discount Tire CBI.

The format is 16 teams, 1 location (Ocean Center in Daytona Beach), 4 days.

Here is how the Colonels got there:
Sunday won in OT
Monday won in OT
Tuesday won in 2 OT
Wednesday. ???

3 OT games in 3 days.

The NCAA record for consecutive overtime games is 4, set by Jacksonville in 1982.

EKU update

Final game of CBI Tournament. EKU goes down by 21. Colonels come charging back. They have the ball with 19 seconds left down by 3 with a chance to send their 4th consecutive game into OT….. they don’t tie it and lose the game to Charlotte.

I hope their team has a chance to relax on the beach… and maybe have some buckets of KFC before returning to Kentucky.

I will circle the EKU games on my calendar when the 2024 schedule comes out.
