Wingman The teams from Tennessee come to town this week to play KSU. Thursday evening the Owls host the Governors of APU and on Saturday the Bisons of Lipscomb. On paper this looks like an easier week than last week. Austin Peay is 12 (of 14) in the ASUN standings with a 2-6 record while Lipscomb is in 5th place at 5-3.
KingOwlLegacy Wingman i watched part of a Peay game. They at least have some d1 athletes but obviously arent very good. Lipscomb will be tougher, obviously
OwlFan Wingman I hope that we win Thursday as I do plan on being in attendance. Might be my 2nd or 3rd game I'm able to attend. Wish I could attend them all lol. But someone has to pay the bills! Asadullah, Skinner could not land. Seems to be having a down year for Lipscomb. Memory serves me correctly, he used to average at least 15 a game. Averaging a little over 7 this year. He had 10 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals, but also 8 turnovers. Normally always plays us well. Looking forward to Thursday!
bb_fan Below are where the 4 major ranking sites rank KSU today. (Liberty is obviously a unanimous number 1.) I only posted this to show that Sagarin has Lipscomb ranked ahead of KSU. #2 Pomeroy #2 NCAA NET #3 Massey (FGCU #2) #3 Sagarin (Lipscomb #2)
bb_fan Mark Bradley compares GT to...KSU! "The Jackets are 1-8 in ACC play, tied for 13th place in a 15-team league. They're 156th in Ken Pomeroy's rankings, one spot ahead of Kennesaw State, which is tied for the ASUN lead. Tech just completed an 0-3 homestand, its losses coming by 11, 12 and 17 points."
KingOwlLegacy bb_fan Nice little plug lol. Maybe he should write the article about KSU and slide in a blurb about GT instead? On a side note, Mark Bradley is still with the AJC? Holy crap.
Wingman KingOwlLegacy He did write an article about KSU Basketball. Look at post number 49 in the “ASUN Basketball 2023” thread.
Wingman OwlFan I noticed the same thing. Asasdulla is a 5th year player. His stats this season resemble his freshman year more than years 2, 3 and 4.
OwlFan Wingman those were his stats last year against us. I remember when he was listed at 6'8, now 6'10 lol.
OwlFan Of interesting note I'm just seeing: Asadullah's brother is Marcus Georges-Hunt. Very good player at Tech, plays overseas now.
Wingman This week’s Mid Major poll has KSU climbing the ranks. The Owls got 19 votes which tied them for 38th place. Liberty is 13th and EKU and Stetson each got a few votes. https://collegeinsider.com/mens-mid-major-top-25
KingOwlLegacy Unrelated but I thought bbfan would enjoy this https://twitter.com/mid_madness/status/1617743254270906371?t=-oygJMueDUzU2pfP0z-77w&s=19
KingOwlLegacy bb_fan I declare this forum a Kennesaw State and Chicago State forum. What's their team name, the Chicago State Bullets? Maybe change it to the Chicago State Wizards
bb_fan KingOwlLegacy The mighty Cougars (because Chicago is overrun with Cougars) upset the Chanticleers last night!
bb_fan Speaking of ineptitude, the LIU Blackbirds -- oops, Sharks -- are the lowest rated team in 3 of the 4 major ranking sites. Massey sees potential and has them 2nd to last.
KingOwlLegacy bb_fan We play them in baseball in February. I saw the Sharks logo on the KSU site because I swore they were the blackbirds. What happened, did somebody say that was racist?
bb_fan KingOwlLegacy The D1 Brooklyn Campus (Blackbirds) merged athletically with the D2 Brookville campus (Post Pioneers) 2019 and they decided they needed a new mascot.
