OwlFan Worried about us matching up with Jack Nunge, their 7'0 center. Only guy close to that height at 6'11 is Yves and he does not play. I think we drew a good one.
ScrappytheOwl Who all is planning on making the drive for Fridays game? Does anybody know of a party bus going from KSU to greensboro and back? Thatd be very convenient.
bb_fan The line is now trending upward to KSU +11.5 Sagarin: KSU +13.5 Massey: KSU +12 (81-69; 15% chance of an upset)
bb_fan <snip> Twenty-two 14 seeds have upset 3 seeds since 1985, giving them a 22-122 record all-time. That equates to a 15.28 win percentage. Heres a good one from 2015: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueko2C3mYEE And who can forget the Atlantic Sun in 2014: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMlzhavtoG8 What Owl is most likely to be doing the Nae Nae at the end of the game? š
Wingman This is good draw. Per the Wall Street Journal bird mascots beat historical people (Musketeers) 62% of the time in the NCAA Tournament since 1985. However blue has done better than gold or black. So we just will have to play the game and see what happens.
Kmase14 bb_fan I disagree. The 11 seed play ins are the lowest ranked At large bids. 12-16 are all AQ's. Honestly, I feel like its more ridiculous that conference tourney winners have to play in play in games. I think it would be more fair to have the lowest 8 at large bids have to play in.
TMac1325 Kmase14 There are different levels of AQs. There are the KSU's that win both the regular season and the tournament, then there are the mediocre teams that get hot in a 3 day stretch to win a tournament, and sometimes that's as much about endurance than actually being good. I think if you are just a tournament winner, you get whatever you get.
chandler-wright Kmase14 personally Iād say leave the 16 seeds there, because those games count as tournament games so the winner of those games gets double the money they make off this tournament over the next six years
Kmase14 TMac1325 That's fair. I think its pretty silly that many conferences have every team make their conference tourney and don't give much advantage to the higher seeds. I think the ASun has the best format. Top 10 teams make it, 1 & 2 play teams that play a play in game, then reseed after the first round. What's the point of the season for these other Conference teams with little incentive to win and get a top seed? I hope the format changes in CUSA when we get there.
KingOwlLegacy I'm probably going to be staying the night in Greensboro because the weather will be shit on Friday, so I might as well stay for the game after KSU since it's included on the ticket and scout our next opponent š.
TMac1325 KingOwlLegacy If we can somehow get by Xavier, I really like us matching up with any of the possible Pitt/Miss St/Iowa St trio.. I can't even imagine what a Sweet 16 would do for KSU sports across the board..
bb_fan Not only is Mark Bradley drinking the Kool Aid, he's also driving the bus: "Calling it now. On Friday afternoon in Greensboro, N.C., itāll be KSU 71, Xavier 70." Well, historically speaking, he's got a 15% chance of being right.
Nhumps Going to be interesting to see how well we travel for this game. Hope someone is giving the banana guys a ride to the game. Need to see those guys on TV
chandler-wright Nhumps most of us have had to fair for our own. And the āstudent sectionā is going to be upper deck too so š¤·š»āāļø
bb_fan Today Mark Bradley answers a very important KSU basketball question: Q: Kennesaw State plays Xavier on TruTV on Friday. Whereās TruTV on your cable dial? A: Beats me. I have to look it up every March.
chandler-wright bb_fan who is mark Bradley? Iām assuming a news anchor but outside this forum Iāve never heard his name before
Wingman bb_fan I donāt know what you and Mark Bradley are watching but my TV doesnāt have a dial.
