Offense was bad tonight. It's obvious they don't trust murph on pure dropbacks, and I don't blame them. The 3 or 4 they tried he looked real robotic and uncomfortable.
Really bad sign that we didn't do well on either line of scrimmage. The scheme adjustments are HUGE there but I still hopes we had athletes that could make it look good vs a D2.
It was good to see the new schemes though. Didn't know our defense would be this different but we really need to turnover the bodys this on that dline. We don't have any real edge rushers since we've dropped 8 and played 2 gap type lineman so long.
Offense it's tough to know if we kept it basic to not show anything or if this really is just the kap offense from 10 years ago with just a little more motion/shifts and an occasional rpo. The rpo's largely looked nice though.
Murph has never done a good job of reading the option. That part isn't shocking. He was 10x the athlete Shephard was when Shephard took the job because he made the right decision more consistently in his all American season.
I hope we see some new QBs play this year. I liked murph but this is his farewell tour and he's not so good that if we have a good young guy they shouldn't get a chance to take the job from him.
Skill positions on offense, lb, DB looked really good. Good to see how quickly we found a real tightend and our our backs transitioned to more traditional positions.
