I think we hit the transfer portal hard for o-line, d-line, and experience at wr. We need size and depth on both lines, and maturity usually means size and strength with lineman. Guys that were once 6'3" 270 as true freshman are usually 6'3" 310 as redshirt sophomores or juniors.. I also think we bring in an experienced tried and true kicker. Let's face it, if we were 9 for 11 in field goals instead of 4 of 11, we would likely be 3-2 instead of 1-4. A transitioning team can't afford to blow tight games, because we will probably be in several next year..
I generally like our overall skill guys, and think our young kids stack up well against CUSA talent.
I am dying to get a good look at Bryson, and maybe even a glimpse of McCarty in these next 4 games at QB. These 2 were Mr Football winners in Virginia and Alabama respectively, 2 states with tons of talent. While both are a little small, their skill sets are impressive and fit well with what Klenakis wants to do on offense. The pistol offense requires the QB to make the correct reads in both the running game and passing game all within the same base playcall. It requires the QB to know 5 or 6 potential options out of every standard set..His offense when working well, makes stars out of QBs..
