Time, money (for the department and NIL), and want to from the university leadership.
Better coach pay, larger staff (personnel, scouting, all support staff), pretty buildings, and player pay are all needed to be near the top of g5. Takes time and money and a president that believes big time football will be a benefit to the school for those things happen.
I'm not optimistic that we get there any time soon. I'm hoping we can be reasonably competitive in CUSA within 4 years or so. I'd love to say we're the next UCF, but being a Ga State type program that hovers +/-1 game from bowl elligibility is probably a more realistic expectation once we get settled into fbs.
