Now that the season is over it's time to start the baseball thread. 🙂

I have zero interest in baseball.

(Although I will admit to watching KSU in the Regionals a couple years ago and the first game of the ASun tourney this year. And one regular season game a few years ago but that was only because Jon was scheduled to perform.)

But putting my personal interest aside, I'm shocked that the MDJ had ZERO coverage of the ASun tourney. Not a single word about the tourney in general or KSU in particular. I believe that the same thing can be said about the AJC, but I don't read everything in that paper like I do the MDJ so it's possible I could have missed something.

Wingman

I have become a fan of Owls baseball. To me it’s more fun than watching MLB. College baseball more scoring and it’s more unpredictable. The ASUN regular season ended with 3 teams tied for the lead and the Owls 1/2 game back. It doesn’t get any better than that.

Too bad the ASUN conference totally botched the conference tournament format. It still bothers me that KSU and Stetson both ended with 1 loss and Stetson is the Champ. Time to return to a double elimination tournament.

The biggest news for me is the new baseball stadium. If anyone is on campus and can give updates on the progress please post. It looks to be a big upgrade and if the hot dogs are any good you will see me there a lot when completed.

Despite Coe making some interesting pitching decisions in the mid week games I felt he did a good job managing this team. We lacked power and teams like Stetson knew that which gave them a ton of confidence in the championship game that we would have a tough time keeping up if they could get a big hit or two. I felt we made huge strides in both pitching and defense so for me it has to be offense from new players or hopefully a big jump from guys we already have. I feel Coe can get us to the top of CUSA and I hope we invest in our most consistent program beyond the facilities.
