I've got feelings about this team and this board is the outlet for them. first half thoughts. Gonna start positive.
I love our DB group still. They are not physically capable of shutting people down, but they compete their asses off. You can see the irrational confidence in their play. Loved Hallum's contest on the first Nash Tuddy. He was so physically outmatched, got beat, and still nearly made a play on the ball as Nash was securing it. I loved the punch out from Washington(?). That's just an effort play. Hallum really left it all out on the field (those replays were NASTY lmao)
I love our longsnapper. He stood out week 1 getting up field covering punts really well. Today he forces a fumble and has another tackle. Special Teams, special player, he's making special plays! I love to see E.A.T. from a specialist.
Qua again showing off good hands and finishing runs. We're not giving him much to work with before he finishes them, but he's fighting and falling forward.
Bryson doing a good job of protecting himself and the ball.
Turner is really good at broadcasting sports. That halftime was the best college football halftime I've ever seen. I cannot believe we have champ bailey and victor cruz taking this so seriously. I really hope turner gets good football rights soon. they're so good at broadcasting sports.
Well, that's all the positive I got. now I'm posting through the bad feelings.
Bo's voice being absolutely gone after the first quarter during that interview feels like a bad sign. He must have been losing his shit all week or atleast that whole quarter. Hopefully he isn't unraveling.
I don't know ball enough to know if the oline coaches son and the wr bohannon belong on the field or if it's pure nepo baby shit. But when they both have false starts on the same set of downs and kill the drive it looks REALLY bad. If you're going to play your kids, they better be good.
the 3rd and 20 draw was embarrassing. What were the edges flying up field for on a 3 man rush? even if it was a pass, the qb is going to step up into space because there aren't two interior rushers eating it up. you have to have a disciplined rush when it's just 3. They ran themselves out of the play.
There was a really weird swing screen with the rb. I don't understand why he got so far into the backfield???
It'd be nice if our qb and runningback were on the same page. It's shocking how often one of them is going the wrong way. That's just an unorganized football team. We're not big/fast/strong enough to makeup for those negative plays that are purely disorganization. whoever is responsible for those, needs to be kept off the field. The 4th and 5 one was particularly embarrassing.
Khalib Johnson just standing there before the snap, looks fantastic. He just looks like an fbs qb physically. The one pass attempt he got, he showed why he's a backup for us instead of playing at a higher level. He held that ball forever before taking the sack. Throw it away, protect the ball, don't lose yards, and don't take that unnecessary hit.
