Kennesaw State vs. Liberty [10/23/2024, Game 7, 7:00 PM EDT]

The game is tomorrow, and I didn't see a game thread so here we go. Gearing up for a blowout if I had to guess. Vegas seems to think the same as I'm seeing the spread around 25 at most places. As one of the worst, if not the worst FBS team out of the 134 total, I guess it's only up from here, right?

Liberty keeps winning, but they haven't been nearly as dominant this year, not really blowing out even the weakest of C-USA competition. Hopefully that means we can keep it somewhat competitive, if we really come to play.

But for some reason I feel like Liberty's due to explode in a game, and I think this is the game they'll probably do it. I don't feel good about stopping Chadwell's offense, and I feel like he's gonna relish beating the living crap out of us as well, based on our past history with some of his teams. Hopefully the defense comes prepared.

I normally try and find some kind of optimism even though we're really bad, but I've got nothing here. Hopefully we generate a lot of gate/concessions revenue from the Liberty fans? I don't even want to watch this one.

Massey sees it 36-10 but optimistically says KSU has a solid 4% chance of pulling the upset.

Let's be realistic here guys... Kennesaw could only put up 5 frickin points against MTSU, who let Tennessee Tech score 25 against them. Kennesaw's defense gave up 65 points against Jacksonville State. Yes, Liberty's defense has given up some points, but they easily still have twice as good of a defense than MTSU and an offense that can keep up. That same offense is twice as good as any offense that Kennesaw has played this season. There is a 100% chance that the stadium will be over halfway filled with red clothing, a 100% chance that Liberty scores at least 40 points, and a 100% chance that Kennesaw does not score double digit points.

I guess let's just not try to get any pressure on the QB on 3rd and long. Let's just drop into a soft zone every time and let their QB wait until someone gets open. Lol. I'm done with this crap already. Pathetic.

I didn't actually go away, decided to watch one more series and then we scored. So, it's nice to go into halftime tied up, but it felt like we coulda easily gone in with the lead. Not impressed with Liberty's QB at all, not sure why we're not pinning our ears back and going after him, what do we have to lose? Last TD we rushed 3 I believe, why? And whoever the safety was in coverage on that TD needs to be benched, jogging slowly towards the receiver, wtf was that.

Db's balled out that first half. What a great season from them. I hope we don't lose too many come portal time. Hopefully their size limits their options elsewhere and we can keep that core together.

Ya'll have any faith we keep this competitive? I feel like liberty probably puts us away in the 3rd quarter. I'd love to be wrong.

OwlHowl69 I don't think the playcalling looks much different. mixing in a little tempo which is nice. We're just getting a great push upfront. The liberty defensive line looks SOFT. I think if we give up a score here, it could look like a 2018ish era death march when we get it back.

Great game by the Owls. Gotta give credit where credit is due. Maybe they can ride this momentum for a few more wins to end season. Wow.

How about them Owls!!! Great seeing all the love they're getting after this win. Here's to hoping this win serves as a spark for the remainder of the season ala Sam Houston last year.

Now that I've had some time to digest that............. HOOTY HOOOOOO

Two games that all KSU fans should've had circled at the beginning of the season.. Liberty and JSU. And as much as it hurt to take one on the chin from JSU, it feels so good to beat Liberty (and tie the series with them at 2-2). Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves (Liberty was awful, way worse than I thought possible), we still have some serious problems, but it's great to see that CBB has managed to not lose the team and keep them motivated to win a game like this. There are 3 really winnable games left on the schedule. Amazingly, we still have a chance to turn this season around.

Massey believes...moves KSU up to notch to 132/134 and moves U Mass down a spot. Kent State is now the only winless FBS team.

I knew KSU was going to win as soon as saw Liberty's QB wore nose jewelry. 🙂
