Rutgers didn't look like a top 25 team to me and I'd be shocked if that's where they are at the end of the year. We'll see.
Out of curiosity I looked at The Athletic and Massey's rankings.
Rutgers is not in The Athletic's top 25 rankings (that's as low as they go). They weren't included last week either.
Massey has Rutgers at number 93 (!). That's a drop of 25 spots after the KSU defeat.
I think the Rutgers coaching staff thought they would just show up and win and totally overlooked KSU. For some reason they arrived late Saturday night; their previous game was Wednesday. Unless they had an early fight that was delayed by hours this was a strange decision.
Ironic that the only reason Rutgers played here was to give Ace Bailey a game before friends and family -- and he was responsible for the game ending turnover.
