2025 CUSA Basketball Tournaments

I am proud of the way our team played. It was a good tournament showing for us.

Now let me get this off my chest. Yesterday’s game lasted until about 8 pm local time and then our next game is 11:30 in the MORNING. I know all brackets favor the top seeded but this was egregious. They gotta find a way to make this a late afternoon or evening game. The 1 seed would still have the day off advantage.

GO-OW15 I agree we held the lead most of the second half Liberty kept coming at us and shrinking out lead. It wasn’t until the last 4 minutes that they overtook us. Seems like our guys were exhausted- no fault of their own, just the stupid schedule.

Wingman Completely agree especially for a team like the Owls with Weir out going into the tournament.

Wingman For me this year was the best Owls team. I think the depth and level of competition they faced gives them the edge. I don't think the 2022 team would have beaten Rutgers as an example.

I think this years team was more talented but streaky, I think the ASUN team had less talent but more consistent. Personally I think the team that won the ASUN and this years team are probably very comparable teams with this years team edging out the ASUN team.

This year's team was better, bigger, more athletic, more depth. More explosive scorers as well, with Wooley being an NBA talent. I agree that the ASUN team was more consistent, and AAR ran a better offense. But this team was better, and could've surprised people in the tournament if we'd made it.

Hopefully we keep enough guys for next year and get a Big man in the portal. This team could get a good MTE invite and be really good next year.

Which teams better? The one that won their conference regular season, conference tournament, and came pretty close to winning their first game in the NCAA tourney.

bb_fan You make a compelling case. The unsaid factor is the strength of competition in CUSA we had difficult opponents every night is conference play. In the ASUN there were some weak opponents.

CUSA 2025 - lowest ranked member is 254 (FIU)

ASUN 2023 - 4 members are ranked lower than 254

However KSU, ranking Ken Pom

2023 - 123

2025 - 130

So maybe the 2023 team was better - it was better to watch anyway IMO.
