It will be interesting to see where Cal goes, there was an article saying that Joe Pasternak is high on Cal's list (Per article: https://www.noozhawk.com/mark-patton-cal-expected-to-hire-ucsbs-joe-pasternack-as-next-basketball-coach/) However, with AAR in the discussions, the game changes. Cal did hire Mark Fox, with his success at UGA and Nevada, yet Fox wasn't as successful at Cal. What I read in the article, Joe Pasternak has deeper ties and more familiarity.
I am interested to see what KSU will offer. Yes, it's true we can't compete with GT/Cal, money wise. If he accepts the offer, I wonder which coaches KSU will pursue. It is a more promising job than what it was four years ago. I think KSU will have more interested candidates than before. Regardless, I saw the tweet where it said AAR had a "zoom interview". The GT AD and President flew out to pursue Stoudamire. If Cal is going to be serious about a candidate, they should have done something similar, unless they already have a candidate in mind.
