Basketball Conference Play

Just wrapped have 2 of conference play with a loss to Liberty. A frustrating start, HOT out the blocks in the second half, then got within 1 with I think NINE straight chances to take the lead and blew em, then just faded away in the final minutes.

This team can clearly compete with Liberty. Luckily all that matters is the conference tournament. These guys have a lot of meshing and growing pains to still work out.

Side question - what’s the status of RJ Johnson? Did I miss him getting hurt? Balled out against Bama.

I watched the first 3 conference games. Disappointing to say the least.

Big scoring droughts. Pettway sticks to his game plan even when it doesn’t work due to cold shooting. I thought when we’re down 10 at several points we could have gone into a full court press. Delaware has a thin bench, we have superior athleticism, wear them down. Force turnovers, get steals, make layups get back in the game. You could do this with 5 mins left in the game for example. Maybe it doesn’t work but what we did, it just looked like we conceded the game to them at the end.
