Wanted to see how everyone is feeling now that we have had a few games to figure out what this team has. The team is currently at 5-5 at the midpoint of conference play. We have 6 home contests and 4 away with our longest road trip being 2 games. ESPN Analytics would predict the owls to finish 12 and 8 in conference play. What is everyone's expectation for the rest of the season and what would you consider successful or unsuccessful?
I personally think that we will probably go .500 in the second half of the season as well. Which is far more optimistic than I was a few weeks ago. For me a successful season would be anything over .500 in conference play, and a 5 or 6 seed in the conference tournament. If we can get a 5 or 6 seed I would be excited with a 1-1 record in the tournament, but don't think we have the depth or maturity to make a run in Huntsville. It would be a disappointing season if we somehow fell behind all three of the current 3-7 teams and missed the tournament all together.
