Back when KSU entered the Atlantic Sun only the top 8 teams played in the tourney. So since the Atlantic Sun was an 11 team conference 3 teams were not invited. I think all teams in the conference should play, and I was glad they had the "play in" game this year since we are a 9 team conference. With 12 teams it will just be the first round for teams 5-12 and should not have the stigma of being a "play in" game.
Back when KSU was transitioning as a fan I didn't think it was right that KSU could not participate in the tourney. I understand the arguments against it, but I would have all transitioning teams remain in the tourney. Teams that were banned from post season play by the NCAA (or self imposed) for cheating or whatever should also be banned from the tourney.
I also support a one location tourney; that was one of my first posts on the old forum site. (This may not be possible until the pandemic is under control due to the cleaning that i'm assuming takes place now after each game.) One of the regulars on the old site said he went one year to Macon and it was pretty empty and a boring experience. I'd like to find out -- I know I enjoyed the SEC tourney when it was in Atlanta.
TL;DR 😀
All teams eligible for the tourney, regardless of transition status (unless banned by NCAA for rules violation).
