OwlFan Like OwlFan I was glad to see the return of Antonio Spencer, I still believe he is our best interior defender. I base my opinion mainly from prior years as I haven't seen him play much recently.
My thought is with with a quicker team on the floor, maybe coach felt that smaller forwards, Peterson, Stroud, and Harris were a better fit but I am just guessing. One thing I miss, since I don't attend games in person during COVID, is that you miss out of some of information your can see in person. Is a player dressed, warming up, or injured. Is a player always at the far end of the bench away from the coaches. These things help you figure out what is going on.
In 5 minutes of play, Antonio was 2-2 from the field and got 2 boards. Not bad for a guy who is not known for offense. Lipscomb and Stetson have some bigs that Antonio has played against and we may need his size to neutralize those guys. On the offensive end, I think Cole Larue is a better passer than Antonio or Nate Springs, that is why he got the starts.
Larue, started the first UNF game and played 16 minutes, in the second UNF game, again he started but got the hook early and only recorded 3 minutes (and 2 turnovers), Maybe the passing is in question for all of the centers.
