jones682 I’m not gonna respond and pretend that I don’t have bias here, but do you understand how factually incorrect that statement is? I’m genuinely asking.
Do you know why both GSUs don’t have a dedicated practice fields? It’s because they practice inside their football stadiums. KSUs marching band only goes into the stadium one time during their camp and then each home football game… and that’s it. Each GSU band also has dedicated facility designed to house instruments, equipment, and offices for staff. Our marching band has turned that brandsmart facility into a workable space for both practice and everything else I mentioned above. Do you really think it would be that easy to simply take it away without replacing it?
The marching band is the largest student body organization on KSU’s campus and, unlike many of our fans, attend every home football game and pour constant support into that program. They work very hard to entertain our fans at every home game and do so while working jobs to support themselves while attending school (no substantial scholarships in place yet). All I’m asking is that you treat the students in that band with the same respect you treat our student athletes with.
