I'm going to start with positives. I feel like our defense is improving week my week. I'm actually not worried about it long term at all. I did see improvement on the offensive line which made me happy. Looked like they got a little stronger as the game went on.
But with all that said, it's time to bring in the young guys, especially at QB. It's hard to see improvement overall in the offense when your QB looks like he's regressing. I love Murphy and respect what he could he do in the triple option, but he is simply not the right QB for this new offense.
And I do want to call out that weak call to go for a field goal on 4th and 2 in the red zone. If there was ever a time to go for it, that was the time. The offense had some momentum, CSU defense was tired and we're on our backup kicker who had already missed. Bo screwed that one up. These past two years, I know his confidence in our offense hasn't been there, but it's so crazy to see it still. I got used to this guy always going for it. We lost some sure, but you could always respect the cojones he had. That 4th and 2 call tonight was straight garbage.
