Some of you guys have some unrealistic expectations from AAR. While he may or may not leave for another job, if he does, that's just the way it works for low and mid major coaches. They have to strike while the iron is hot. As good as KSU could be next year, they could also have injuries or defections that hurt the win total. If that happens , AAR wouldn't be a hot name for job openings. I also get he said KSU is home, KSU is not a stepping stone,and all the other canned coach talk that every single guy coaching at his level says every year. But what would you expect? For him to announce a bidding war for his services? He is simply acting like practically every other college coach in his position. Nothing more or less.
What we do know is that KSU is a much more desirable job now than it was 4 years ago. If AAR leaves, we should be able to find a good replacement. But even then, success will bring other higher paying higher profile job offers. The only way a low or mid major can keep a good coach is to hire an older guy who sees it as his last stop, or a failed P5 guy who has already made a fortune and is looking for redemption. But any young successful guy will become an immediate target for the big guys.. That's just the way it works in college basketball..
