Comin’ in hot with a take: If AAR leaves and no renderings (or announcement) of new facilities for baseball, basketball or football within the next two years.. you might want to save your breath for something else. We should be tired of hearing about this “sleeping giant” tagline with the school. Sure it’s true but the school is not acting like it. Sleeping giants have a solid foundation of boosters. We get like one email a year for Alumni donations? What about the Owls Fund? Never heard of her.
Sleeping Giants have plans for new facilities when they do not have sufficient facilities that can sustain this “giant fan base that is asleep.” They don’t hide this either bc it excites the fans ($$) and draws the interest of recruits. Probably doesn’t hurt retaining current athletes as well.
Sleeping Giants also retain coaches that accelerated the success of the program(s). They bring in coaches that have experience turning around programs. Current coaches that haven’t contributed to the acceleration of that sport.. next man up until you find that coach or fit the vision of xyz sport.
Lastly, The new CUSA is not respected in the eyes of P5 or Group of 5.. Way to change that is to follow the blue print of the UCFs (who just released their renderings of their new football campus. It’s sick), the University of Houston’s, University of Daytons, Grand Canyons, even yes, Liberty University. They got the National brand quickly by investing in their facilities, investing in student life, and investing in their coaches. Recruits will come when those three are up to standard of a real university.. & when they do for 3-4 years.. you start earning that respect on a national level.
