Will Alabama do the right thing or will Brandon Miller play tonight against LSU? Nate Oats is saying the wrong things...

"Alabama coach Nate Oats then made some puzzling comments following the news of Miller’s involvement, saying a team “can’t control what anybody does outside of practice” and that Miller was in the “wrong spot at the wrong time.” Jarring, considering Miller allegedly brought the murder weapon to the scene."

As the above says, bringing a gun that was used in a murder to the scene at the request of a former teammate is a helluva lot more than "being in the spot at the wrong time".

If this was an end of the bench guy he'd already be suspended.

KingOwlLegacy They are trying to prevent FOD (Foreign Object Damage). If you are flying in a fighter jet and have pen or something in your pocket, you don't want it to fly around during a high G maneuver and damage anything in the cockpit. Although I know this, it was the furthest thing from my mind when I watched the video.

It's not just an ASUN issue:

"Fairleigh Dickinson became the first team to punch its ticket to the 2023 NCAA tournament on Saturday -- and the Knights did it without winning their conference tournament.

Merrimack, the 1-seed in the Northeast Conference tournament, is still in the midst of its four-year reclassification process from Division II to Division I and is therefore ineligible for the NCAA tournament. However, the NEC announced last summer it would allow Merrimack to participate in the conference tournament this season. Merrimack winning the regular-season title meant the championship game runner-up would advance to the NCAA tournament should the Warriors make it to the title game"

Wingman The 4 year D2 to D1 transition rule is one of the silliest things the NCAA forces. Most schools easily can make that move in a year or 2 at the most, yet an entire 4 year class gets punished in the process..

I've had people at West Ga and Valdosta St tell me they want to move to D1 and FCS but the 4 year transition is the single biggest hurdle to commit to... We are all not thrilled about 1 zombie football season next year, imagine having 3 in all sports..

A couple years ago the Cal Baptist women won the WAC in their third year of transitioning to the D-I level. Not only did they win the conference tournament, but they also went undefeated in the regular season. A perfect 22-0.

Undefeated and can't play in the tourney. Stupid.

chandler-wright I know this season on the original contract was $230,000. Does anyone know what the salaries are for this contract he's on?

I hope we do something that ties him here for a while that he wants to stay and build a program and powerhouse mid major through C-USA. If he stays and can recruit solid 3 stars and pull a 4 everyone once in a while from here in GA, he can build something truly amazing here.

I'm not sure how to keep him if another school with big pockets really wants him. On the other hand, I'm sure the ASUN tourney and bid put a lot of money back into the school, but I have no idea how much and all that.

Lots of games to watch this week for us now! Need some upsets in the small conference tourney's and NO cinderalla tournament winners in the big conference tourney's to move us up in seeding. I think we're on the bubble between 14 and 15 right now. A couple upsets guarantee us in at 14, a few upsets may move us to a 13, and if things get really crazy I think there's still a small percent chance KSU could flirt toward a 12 with a bunch of upsets (but that's really probably just a dream).

Teams I'm watching hoping they lose this week - Furman in the SoCon Champ TONIGHT vs. Chattanooga, Louisiana in the SBC, Youngstown State in the Horizon, Colgate in the Patriot Conferece, Hofstra (but also Charleston) in the CAA, Sam Houston and Utah Valley in the WAC, and plenty more.

All that to say is the more chaos the more KSU moves up throughout this week!

So we've finally had a good year in a looong time and y'all want to throw cash at AAR?

As Wingman (I think) said, it's too early to know if AAR is a good coach...maybe he just got lucky with one recruiting class. (Apologies if I've misrembered that.) It's a valid point.

Georgia Tech got all excited when Pastner won the covid ACC tourney in 2021 wearing his welders mask. They threw 3 more years and a raise at him. They'll pay for that decision when he gets fired (in all probability) at the end of the season. Or even worse, they keep him around becasue the buyout is too onerous.

AAR already got an extension last year. Let him prove that he's worth it.

bb_fan I don't see luck, I see a year over year improvement that started in the lowest possible place.. Obviously KSU can't keep him from a P5 or even a decent mid major with more cash, we we need to try to at least be competitive. We are going to have to pay coaches more as we enter CUSA anyway..
