Hoping in here because King asked me too. 😂
I do not like this matchup nearly as much as I liked the matchup last week against UT. This QB is much better and can run, which has hurt a lot of teams especially on 3rd downs. They run a multitude of formations a lot like Tennessee Tech which gave our D fits at times. They have a really good HC (described as the next Cliff Kingsbury) so he helps the OC out a lot. Have 2 talented receivers, and like to max protect to tale shots down field (so getting pressure upfront with only 4 like we did last week will be tough). Positives our D played the best ball they have played all year last week and I look for them to build off of it this week. The AP O line is not as talented as UT's, and everyone Saw what our D line did to them... just have to replicate it this week.
Our O finally had success getting the ball to the perimeter mostly because their safeties had to play back to defend the threat of the pass which is good because DC's are worried about us hitting them over the top. It all starts up front though, our O line has to come off of the ball and get hats on those running linebackers. This D line as a whole is better than UT's but they don't have a dude like 10 from last week or a linebacker like 1.
Overall I like our chances, this is going to be a much closer ball game with the matchup not favoring us as much this week. Also with the big UCA loss the guys have something to play for again which will be huge for us as well as AP. Both teams are in very similar positions going into this Saturday a lot hinges on what KSU team shows up and the effort they play with.
