The_bagman I’m not impressed with any of the supposed candidates at least AAR had P5 coaching experience and the other finalists was a D2 coach
USFBullFan You realize your coach left and took your best 3 players available with him? You’re losing the other players that are seniors. You’re right where you were 4 years ago. Any progress you made left to USF. Find a young coach willing to rebuild for the long term.
Wingman USFBullFan If there are no more defections, We have returning a 5 th year point guard who was second team all conference and one of the better big men in our league. What I am most worried about is the AD taking too long on the hire and making it difficult for us to fill in the roster. The bar is low in Kennesaw. If we can manage 16 wins next season that would be our second best result since we have been D1.
USFBullFan All the recycled/fired coaches are just looking for a stepping stone to get to the bigger school.
jones682 USFBullFan The same with USF. AAR is going to use USF as a stepping stone for a good P5 school. Hell he could of stayed at KSU for one more year and got a better job then USF. AAR only had one winning season. If I was a USF fan, I would be worried about that.
USFBullFan Trust me I’m not happy about the hire. And I don’t like that he gutted the program he was building. He will do it to us if he wins here. I was curious to see how you guys felt about how he left and took your players. We had a recycled coach and he was terrible. Hopefully we will be better for a few years and then what???
The_bagman USFBullFan well honestly even with taking 3 out 4 of ksu best players he still left the roster and team as a whole a hell of a lot better than he found it. Sooo not mad at him. More personally mad at lack of booster club and donations
bb_fan I didn't like the hire but the AD didn't pay any attention to me. 🙂 I agree with jones682 that if he was smart he woulda stayed one more year being making a move.
TMac1325 bb_fan In retrospect, I'm sort of glad AAR left now so we have a year with the new coach before joining a mucher tougher conference and starting from scratch.. With the right hire and a couple of transfers we should still be in pretty good shape for next year.
USFBullFan Well thank you for the instant upgrade of players and best of luck to you. Hopefully you find a juco coach that can bring in some players that can compete immediately and you don’t have to wait 4 years for a winning season.
The_bagman USFBullFan you do realize a former ksu player is coaching San Diego state right now right? He will come in grab some transfers from the atl area and lead the to the final 4 next year. But have fun with your 3-4 year rebuild
jones682 USFBullFan How did UCF is becoming a P5 when their budget is lower and facilities are worst then USF?
The_bagman USFBullFan J.D pollock he is the film guy but has been there for 6 years and was a JC head coach before. He also played for the best coach in ksu history. Yes even better than AAR lol
jones682 The_bagman He has not coached at the D1 level. His recruiting is questionable. He would not be a good hire for KSU. AAR is KSU best coach TBH
The_bagman jones682 Did AAR lead ksu to a national championship??? And questionable recruiting are you kidding me?!?! He is young, entergenic, and is a basketball nut. Local kids would love to come play for him
jones682 The_bagman Going to the Dance is bigger than winning the national championship at the D2 level. Most of the students on campus do not even know KSU won a D2 championship. Just because some one is young and entergenic does not mean they can Recruit. Recruiting is all about relationships and experience.
jones682 TMac1325 Yes they do. USF Baseball Stadium, Softball Stadium, Basketball practice facility, Track, Soccer stadium is better then UCF's.
TMac1325 jones682 None of that matters without the football stadium, and UCF has a nice one..They also have recent success and more money to spend..All that is what matters the most..USF has been recently awful at the only 2 sports that matter to a P5..
bb_fan Legendary coach Tony Ingle won a National Championship at KSU. He then went to Dalton State, started the program, and won another National Championship the first year they were eligible to compete. AAR can't carry Ingle's jockstrap.
jones682 bb_fan Again going to the Dance is bigger than winning the national championship at the D2 level. I know you are mad at AAR but that is the truth. KSU students do not care that we won a D2 national championship 20 years ago.
